Statistics on observations by vessel in 1996

The ARGOS emitter number enables the identification of the platform and recovery of the data that it sent. It is an ARGOS code. This code is converted into the vessel call sign when the data is put over the GTS.

The WMO code, transmitted with the data has two parts:

• a three digits code indicates the type of probe used (042 = Sippican T7 probe, depth fall rate equation using coefficients in effect since 08 Nov 95)
• a two digits code indicating the type of acquisition system :

  - 21 = interface CLS-ARGOS/Protecno modèle 1
  - 22 = interface CLS-ARGOS/Protecno modèle 2
  - 99 = unknown
