2000 PIRATA-FR7 Cruise (EQUALANT 2000)

Replacing the N/O Antea, moored in Abidjan following engine damages, the N/O Thalassa has been used during the EQUALANT cruise and the replacement of one ATLAS mooring. The cruise was July 23 - August 21 from Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire) to Pointe Noire (Congo).

2000 PIRATA-FR6 Cruise

Replacing the N/O Antea, moored in Abidjan following engine damages, the N/O Suroît has been used for this cruise conducted on March 8-19 2000 from Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire) to Port Gentil (Gabon).

1999 PIRATA-FR5 Cruise

The first leg (ATLAS moorings) of the PIRATA-FR5 cruise, was conducted aboard the N/O Antea from 25th October to 4th November 1999, beginning and ending in Abidjan. Due to the cancellation of the PIRATA-FR4 cruise in July 1999 following unexplained damages on the ship engines, PIRATA-FR5 is following PIRATA-FR3 (January 1999). The main part of experiments initially planed during PIRATA-FR3 has been conducted during PIRATA-FR5 including the replacement of "Gavotte" mooring (10S-10W).

The second leg (YOYO moorings) was conducted on November 8-15.

1999 PIRATA-FR3 Cruise

The PIRATA-FR3 was conducted aboard the N/O Antea on January 23 - February 1. The cruise began and ended in Abidjan.

1998 PIRATA-FR2 Cruise

The PIRATA-FR2 cruise was conducted aboard the N/O Antea from 30th October to 10 November 1998. The cruise began and ended in Abidjan. Notice that after a first leave on the 27th October, the ship had to go back to the dock due to a damage, and then the cruise has been delayed. The studied region extends from 10W to 0W between 10S and 5N.

1997 PIRATA-FR1 Cruise

The PIRATA-FR1 cruise was the first French cruise in the PIRATA program aboard the N/O Antea. This is also the first cruise in the whole PIRATA program (the Brasilian cruise PIRATA-BR1 was planed in January 1998). PIRATA-FR1 was a 12 day cruise (from 5th to 16th September 1997), starting and ending in Abidjan.
